ANIMAL PENCIL PORTRAITS GROUP – SHOW THE WHOLE PERSONALITY
The most important aspect when creating an animal group pencil portrait is the reference. Capturing that one shot that sums up your pet is the key to a drawing that will evoke happy memories for years to come.
When commissioning a group animal pencil portrait you want a drawing that captures your pets look and personality perfectly. When I draw your animal portrait I work to the finest of detail, capturing their expressions and appearance perfectly. The sheen of their fur, that funny little bend in its ear, will be the details that makes the drawing so personal and special to you.
To help capture your pets look perfectly I prefer to have a good selection of reference photos to work from, this will allow me to capture your pets colour and shape exactly as sometimes a single photo can distort a certain aspect of the animal and if translated to the drawing can give an untrue representation to the overall pencil portrait.
You may have hundreds of photos already of your pet, but if you are taking new photos just for the commission its good idea to take these photos outside in natural daylight. This will give a perfectly true representation of the animals colouring as sometimes taking photos indoors can add yellow casts to the animals colour due to tungsten bulbs. Before taking any new photos it may help you if you view my online photo guide, its just got a few hints and tips on achieving the best reference photos. Whilst taking the photos if you have any questions please feel free to give me a call if you have any questions.
