HOW DO I ORDER A PET PENCIL DRAWING?
It may seem simple but a lot of people find it hard, asking the right questions, where do I find a pet portrait artist?, what is an acceptable cost for a pet drawing?
Below are a few pointers to help you; from choosing the best photo to use, through to how much a pet drawing will cost.
HOW DO I CHOOSE THE BEST PHOTOGRAPH FOR A PET DRAWING?
This is the most important part of commissioning a pet drawing. Choosing a photo that is crisp, clear and most importantly, is a pose of your pet your really happy with. Most pet owners have literally hundreds of photos of their furry friends, whether that be photo prints or digital photographs on their phone. The key from my point of view is to have enough clear detail of the eyes, fur colour and facial structure, from which is can then translate it into a beautiful pet drawing. My technique is photo realistic, so require as much detail in the reference as possible to achieve this level of finish. Most modern day smart phones can quickly and easily capture very fine detail and is perfect to use as artistic reference. If you have a photo your not sure has enough detail, or would like slightly altering for the drawing, feel free to email it to me, I will happily discuss it with you.
WHAT IS THE COST OF A PET DRAWING?
My prices start from £90 for a beautiful black and white graphite drawing, through to £425 for a very large 16×24” full colour pet portrait. If you view my prices order page you will see theres a variety of different options to choose from, but if you have a specific size I have not listed please give me a quick call or drop me an email for the cost.
