YORKIE DOGS – FULL OF CHARACTER

Small dogs but with a huge personality, feisty little beasts, but with a very loving personality. Very popular as the favoured small dog breed particularly in the united states. They make the perfect art subject with their elegant looking features and their cheeky characters.

Officially named the Yorkshire Terrier but more commonly known as the Yorkie, they are full of confidence and prowess as they wander round with their beautiful floating silky coats. As seen many times in dog shows on TV they can be groomed to look very glamorous, quite often adorning a cute little top knot, admired as one of the prettiest breeds of the dog world.

The colour of the Yorkie’s coat is its crowning glory, light tan colouring streaked with steel blue gives it an added element of chic and elegance. The Yorkie dog is one of the smallest dog breed around the world, normally weighing no more than six or seven pounds, small but oozing with attitude and character always on the look out for the next adventure.

YORKIE DOG PENCIL PORTRAIT DRAWINGS – WHATS THE BEST POSE?

HEAD PORTRAIT

A focused head shot of your Yorkie can make for the perfect dog portrait drawing. Capturing its cheeky looks with its wonderful colouring, highlighting its wonderful glossy, floating coat, can make for a beautiful piece of artwork.

FULL BODY SHOT

Capturing your Yorkies beautiful glossy coat is key to creating a stunning Yorkie dog drawing, making a full body pose of your Yorkie the perfect pose to choose for this breed. The wonderful colours of steel blues and tan gives a dramtic edge over most other dog portraits, making the final artwork extremely photo realistic.

As you will see from my gallery over the last few months dog portraits have become a firm favourite of my customers.

Please take a look to see the different styles I can do for you. As Yorkie dogs are quite small and not the most energetic of dogs it should be relatively easy to capture the perfect full body pose of your dog for me to use as reference. But do check out my photo guide it may help if you do struggle, it may be useful.

MOVEMENT SHOT

With some dogs it may reflect their nature much better if they are captured in a dramatic movement shot. This is not the case with a Yorkie dog, they are naturally photogenic in a sitting or standing pose, to show off their beautiful coat, which is their main visual feature. It may be nice to photograph your Yorkie dog walking or having a gentle trot, this may give a gentle sway to its coat, giving a little blur to highlight the movement, making for a great photo to use a visual reference.
